“Isabelle and Andrew have a modern, comfortable and well equipped house in the suburbs of Zurich. We really enjoyed our holiday and enjoyed exploring Zurich city center, cycling in the forest which is close by, and swimming in the large public pool just 5 minutes walk from their home. We also had days out to Rapperswil returning by boat on Zurich Lake, visited Europe's largest waterfall at Rheinfall and enjoyed the fun of Technorama. Shops and public transport are just a couple of minutes walk away from the house. Isabelle and Andrew were very helpful both before and during the exchange (by email) and their neighbours are also very friendly and helpful. Our kids had great fun feeding the rabbits and playing with all the toys and games. Our home was in perfect order on our return. We would highly recommend Isabelle, Andrew and family as exchange partners.”
“Nous avons passé un très beau long week-end chez les Fergusson. Le contact était chaleureux et très spontané. La maison très accueillante, calme, les voisins charmants et la situation très agréable. Nous avons voyagé en train et les connexions avec le centre de Zurich très faciles et réguliers. Merci pour cet échange très bénéfique pour le changement et la découverte. Zurich est toujours une aussi belle ville!”
“We had a lovely exchange with this very friendly family in Switzerland! The first day they treated us with a joint meal outside in their garden, very nice! We had the luxury of using their two different places in one holiday and that was perfect. Their house near Zurich is a perfect place to visit this town (10 min by train) and we enjoyed the lakes and rivers nearby (20 min. by car) and of course the swimmingpool around the corner! Up in the mountains we enjoyed their cosy apartment in Savognin, a small village with everything you need for a nice holiday. The heated swimmingpool accompanying this apartment made it extra enjoyable. We made beautiful walks, raced down the mountains on mountaincarts, had breakfast on the balcony with beautiful view and of course used their cheese fondue equipment to have a lovely dinner! If we had had more time we would also have gone with one of the famous train-trips in the neighbourhood or even sleep a night at an alpine hut, it is all possible. If you want to get to know Switzerland this is really a good way to do so. When we came home we found our house tidy and clean, with very friendly welcome note and presents! And last but not least; we've come to know Andrew and Isabelle as very friendly and generous people.”
Where is it?
Wallisellen is a nice quiet neighbourhood only 10 mins by train from Zurich main station. A 3 min walk to the village and there is a small shopping centre, a few supermarkets, banks, post office, restaurants etc. 10 min walk to the largest shopping mall in Switzerland.
4 Trains an hour stop in Wallisellen on route to the main station of Zurich. Also direct tram and bus line to the airport (15 mins away)
Our house is located 2 mins away from the local swimming pool (indoor heated pools in Winter and Summer and outdoor pools in Summer)
For those that like to walk, it is only 5 minutes walking until you are in open fields and then local forests.
Wallisellen (and Switzerland) is an extremely safe area where young kids play freely in the parks with no need for adult supervision.
We have very friendly Swiss (English speaking) neighbours all around us.
