More about us

  1. We are a Kiwi/ South African couple, no children.

  2. We currently own a luxury Villa Rental company in Zanzibar. My husband Matthew is a world class Creative Director and pilot. I am a Travel Retail Brand Manager and a total foodie. We are well traveled and have spent most of our careers working and living around the globe. We first came to Zanzibar about 15 years ago on holiday and fell in love!

  3. We prefer not to stay in hotels and try to avoid mass tourism/commercialism - the very reason why we built Vanilla Arches. You can enjoy a holiday in the privacy of a lovely home and at your own pace - no bells, no clocks, no forced entertainment! You can barbeque on the open fire, drum with the locals on the beach, try Swahili food (amazing), go fishing, diving and so much more. We have an indepth understanding of local culture and really enjoy island life.
