“We stayed in Ryuji's Bangkok home for 9 days in Mar/Apr 2019. The 2-bedroom apartment was very spacious with a large balcony overlooking the Chao Phraya River. It was very well equipped and conveniently located next door to a large Tesco which also has a Decathlon store and restaurants. Ryuji sent information about the home well in advance and was very easy to communicate with. Thank you Ryuji for sharing your home!”

We had everything we needed. The location couldn't be better. The metro connecting you to the entire city is a couple of blocks away. Besides, the neighborhood is pretty authentic too. “Bangkok is a brilliant city, but Ryuji’s hospitality and amazing river marina condo with spectacular vistas make your trip extra special. The condo is in a quieter part of the city, but close to a new BTS station and central to most attractions using the Grab app. His wraparound terrace is great for sunsets. Very comfortable bed, spacious kitchen, and A/C units in both bedrooms round out the luxury stay. Ryuji himself is highly communicative, very helpful, very kind, and a generous soul. This experience was beyond my expectations! ”

“Ryuji is incredibly hospitable - quick to respond, very helpful indeed and an extremely kind individual who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He provided lots of information and even took us out to dinner. He also let us leave luggage at the apartment and freshen up there on our way back through Bangkok from Chiang Mai, when we were flying out that night. The apartment is clean and spacious with a really incredible view from its large balcony. It is a bit far from the centre of town although as the information rightly says, it is quite easy to travel up and down the river to the main sites such as Grand Palace, Wat Pho etc although it takes a bit of time. Its in a good location for the domestic airport and Chatuchak market. Once the skytrain is operational in the area, it is going to make a huge difference. Tesco's and the shopping mall just next door were a great bonus. Coming from Africa we were particularly excited about Decathalon being in the mall. There were several restaurants located in there as well that offered decent fare. The kitchen in the apartment is quite well equipped if you want to cook your own food. The apartment had loo paper, dishwashing liquid, washing powder (there is a washing machine) and Ryuji had even stocked the fridge with some soda's and beers. The restaurant on the river off the back of Tesco's was not such a hit with us but thats probably because we are non-meat eaters and there are no real vegetarian options on the menu - the tofu in brown sauce had meat in the sauce for example. All in all a good stay and we will forever remember the delightful Ryuji.”

“This is a lovely and very large apartment with incredible views. Ryuji is a great communicator and excellent host. The home is comfortable, and the building includes a gym, swimming pool and tennis courts all of which seemed to be empty most of the time. It's right next door to a giant Tesco supermarket, with other shops, restaurants, and a food court in the building. That was very convenient. The location is a bit away from the city, very peaceful. Just be aware that it will take some time via taxi, ferry or taxi+metro to get into the center of the city. ”

It had all you need and its located in a pretty building with very friendly staff. There is a big supermarket right next door. “First of all a Big Thank You to Ryuji for the very professional and amiable arrangement for the access to his appartment. We felt immediately at ease in his appartment. Woah for the view, a panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline and the charming / living Chao Phraya river during the day and even more impressive the lights over the Bangkok city at night. We feel so good to wake up in the morning with such a wonderful scenery. The apprtment is as described, ample of places to enjoy during our 3 weeks stay, the balcony with the evening breeze from the river is so relaxing and charming after a busy day full of activities in Bangkok. The living room is large and the bed very comfortable. We do not use much but the appartment provides plenty of books, DVD cinemas.... We love commuting daily by boat on the Chao Phraya even if the route takes longer than a direct BTS one. The security staff is so helpful in ordering taxis for us, The next door Tesco/Lotus market is very convenient for the day to day groceries. We do not use much the swimming pool, fitness room and tennis courts but access is easy . Communicating with Ryuji is so easy. We particularly appreciated the sea food diner evening with Ryuji and his friends. Bangkok is a fabulous city, from the cultural to the culinary aspects. We will come back Ryuji, a million thanks again.”

“We stayed in two of Ryuji's properties - one right on the river in Bangkok and one just out of Pattaya on the Gulf of Thailand.The Bangkok apartment is on the 12th floor of a condominium and has stunning views of the Bangkok skyline. The floor to ceiling glass on the entire front of the apartment captivated the feeling of space and airiness and the balcony provided al fresco dining. The super king sized bed was a dream. The internet was great too. We struggled with not having hot water in the kitchen sink, but understand that's normal for Thai homes. Gettig taxi's to get around was easy as the Security Team were always ready to please, theough Uber and Grab sometimes got lost down another soi (alley) as the GPS location wasn't reliable. In general we caught taxis' from the property, and Uber/Grab cars back again.The Pattaya apartment is on the 20th floor of a condo building (so it's a bit dizzy looking over the balconies) with a gorgeous swimming pool and little private beach. It has a less modern decor, and a pokey little kitchen, but was comfortable enough - and the views and sunsets were the icing on the cake.There's so much to see and do in Bangkok and in Thailand and both properties provide and excellent base to explore from.Thanks so much Ryuji for a wonderful 3 months stay.”

“Ryuji is an excellent host, very friendly and easy to talk with. He provided me with detailed information soon after our swap was agreed so that from the time of my arrival until my departure i had everything I needed. The apartment is in a portered block and is beautifully maintained in a lovely area. The front door staff are very friendly will helpfully call a cab when requested. The apartment is large and spacious with a lovely long sunny balcony/terrace directly overlooking the river. Everything is very comfortable there is a lovely big shower off the bedrooms. It was my first time in Bangkok and I have decided to return because this swap was so good and as there is still so much more to do and see. ”

“We had a marvellous stay in Ryuji's condo. Security and recepcion personal were very helpfull at arrival and arranging taxiservices. The appartment is big and has amazing views over the river and the city. Ryuji had left tons of information about Bangkok and a fridge loaded with first amenities like water, beer eggs and so on. The restaurant at the riverside behind the Tesco Lotus has great and authentic Thai food. Thank you Ryuji for the excellent service you provided us. “We had a wonderful stay in Bangkok at Ryuji's apartment. The view is amazing day and night and very relaxing. there is always something happening on the river! We really enjoyed evenings on the big balcony too. We almost always got a lovely breeze on the balcony or in the main lounge area. the lounge is not air conditioned but there are plenty of fans. both bedrooms do have air conditioning.The kitchen has what is needed and was quite suitable, though we did not cook much as there are so many eating options in Bangkok and quite a few just near the apartment if we did not want to go into the main city areas again in the evenings. The apartment itself has a very large living area and a big master bedroom. the second bedroom is smaller but still fine. The pool in the complex is great and hardly used, except by us! There are also tennis courts, a well equipped gym and even a table tennis table. Staff at reception have very little English but are very kind. We just had to ask for a taxi and they would wave one down and send it in for us. Ryuji very nicely left the name and address of key visiting places written in Thai and this was invaluable many times. Next door to the complex is a good shopping centre with Tesco Lotus, which has everything needed as well as several little restaurants as well as a food court. We ate there a few times and it was good, simple food, cooked fresh, though many of the stalls did not have English menu's we just tried a few things based on pictures! there is also quite a good restaurant on the river behind the shopping centre on the river. They have a lot of seafood and some more local dishes such as frog (which I did not try!). Transport was quite good and we often took a cab to the Chao Praya River ferry which was very handy. A taxi into the main city area cost only around 100 BHT but is very slow when the traffic is heavy so we found the river ferry mush quicker and you get a bonus nice breeze. Communication with Ryuji was excellent and he offered any help we needed. I have been lucky enough to visit Bangkok several times but I thought it was really nice to stay out of the main city centre for a change and especially for a longer stay. it felt much more local and 'real'!!”

“ This is a great place to stay in Bangkok. We loved the location: close to all the main tourist areas (short, cheap taxi ride or better still a fun river boat ride), amazing, stunning views of the river and city, fabulous facities (tennis courts, swimming pool and gym). We found transport from and to the apartment really easy to organise and having Tesco a few minutes walk away was very convenient! The appartment itself was a great size for our family and very well equipped. Ryuli is particularly helpful, easily contactable via email and we had a wonderful (but too short) stay. We can thoroughly recommend this property.”

“We were very comfortable in the apartment of Ryuji . He welcomed us even though we arrived late because the plane. He explained all the features of his apartment . He even provided maps and pages with tips on how to conveniently move to the city and the most beautiful things to see. It was very kind when we had a problem and helped us solve it . The condo is comfortable and safe . With a concierge service . Very nice swimming pool to relax before going out at night. Stunning view from the apartment. Very convenient Tesco a few steps from the entrance. We would recommend it heartily to all LHS shareholders . Bangkok is Amazing! Thanks Ryuji !!!”

“We were the first swappers for Ryuji and he could not have been more helpful. He provided Thai translations for the sights to enable taxi drivers to understand us, he introduced us to his friends and all in all was a perfect host. The security at the condo is excellent and the staff were all really helpful although they did not have a lot of english. The apartment is well located for the main sights of Bangkok but requires the use of taxis or the Chao Praya Express boat, which we used a lot, it is a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Traffic in Bangkok is chaotic so getting to and from the Skytrain and metro by taxi can take an age, better to go by boat which is fun or take a taxi ( very cheap ) but try to get the timing right. Always allow twice as long as you expect. Coming home to the pool and tranquility of the apartment after a chaotic day in Bangkok was always a pleasure, followed by a beer on the terrace overlooking the river. Tesco Lotus next door is very convenient and has all the basics you need and there are a couple of good local restaurants just next door if you do not want to head back into the tourist areas. The new skytrain route is being built on the main road near the apartment so it is not an easy area to walk in due to construction issues. Ryuji provided us with a 3 week week taste of Bangkok from a tranquil luxury retreat in a noisy crowded city of chaos and contrasts. We had a terrific time . John and Caty ”
