Where is it?

Bangkok is a frenetic, exciting city but our apartment is an oasis of calm, located on a quiet and leafy soi (street) in Bangkok's trendiest neighborhood. It is a six minute walk to the sky train, station Thonglor, that will take you all over this fascinating cosmopolitan city. Our apartment is the entire floor of a 10 story building so is very spacious with views of Bangkok on all four sides.

Buzzy restaurants
Right across the street is one of Bangkok's best Thai restaurants, Taling Ping. Ask for the crunchy noodle salad! Fantastic! But there is also a wide variety of Japanese, Thai, and Italian nearby. Everything is a short and cheap ride away by
Cool bars
Thonglor is known for its cool bars and restaurants. We especially like
Cozy cafés
Starbucks abound in Bangkok but there are also really nice cafes nearby to curl up with a book or get to work on your computer. Try some of the Japanese cafes where the coffee will knock your socks off, or head to Chinatown for a lovely afternoon of tea tasting with delicate Chinese pastries.
Retail therapy
Shopping and Bangkok are synonymous. From Chatachuk market (the world's largest outdoor market) to Prada and Gucci, you can find EVERYTHING in Bangkok. Our home is one stop away or a 15 minute walk to two well known shopping malls known as Emporium. The best thing about luxury shopping malls in Bangkok is that they all feature amazing food courts where you can enjoy divine Thai cuisine for a ridiculously low sum of money.
Bit of culture
Temples, food, wine, theatre, cinema, and concerts are all available in Bangkok but I also enjoy getting up in the morning and taking a rustic train to Hua Hin. Within 3 hours, I am whisked away to the beaches, sipping a cocktail at the pool and leaving the bustle of the city behind me.... when I feel more adventurous I hit the nearby national parks to swim in the waterfalls.
Walks in the park
Lumpini park is just one of the green parks near our home, but there are others as well where you can join outdoor exercises, or even rent a bike and tour secluded parts of the city.
Spot of exercise
Our home has a small gym and small outdoor pool, but if you are into serious sports, there are lots of gyms with day passes, or bike rental. For extra fun, try the outdoor surfing classes where you practice in a pool with artificial waves. An instructor will guide you, but it is much, much harder than it looks!
Day tripping
Bangkok's old capital is just an hour away, and worth visiting the beautiful temples that remain. For a fun day, visit a nearby park with replicas of Thailand's most famous architectural wonders, including temples, and palaces. Of course, you will want to visit a floating market, but also consider spending a day visiting Bangkok's lesser known neighborhoods.
