About our home

NB: To comply with Condominium Regulations the minimum booking is four weeks.

Our fully renovated two bedroom apartment is on the 9th floor with views to the north and a balcony overlooking the Ping River. The total living space is 100 sq metres or 1100 square feet; very comfortable for a couple and practical for three or four adults. It was the first such major development in Chiang Mai (built in 1991 on a prime site on the river and close to all the markets and night markets). It caused a major change in development planning. Consequently similar buildings are now much further out., while It is clearly not the newest development; we bought it for its' proximity to places that we wished to frequent and access to the more popular tourist venues such as the Night market and the major markets.

The apartment was completely refitted and refurnished when we purchased and is has been used twice a year for our holidays. Everything that we ( or you ) might need (crockery, cutlery, bedding etc) is already there. The major bedroom is of a good size with a king bed, a large wardrobe and a computer desk with wi-fi. The second bedroom is not as large but has a double bed and another wardrobe. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, hotplate, refrigerator and dishwasher. The living area has a dining table to seat four, television, dvd, masses of dvds and a bookshelf of books.

The balcony is a major asset. It has a dining setting for four and easy chairs; it is an ideal spot for relaxing and is out of the sun during the heat of the day. We take the majority of our meals here when we are eating in but as often as not we eat out; Chiang Mai has hundreds of small eating places selling a wide range of Asian dishes and there is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor overlooking the river. Alternatively you can get an excellent chicken noodle soup to take away from the stall next door for little more than $1 a person that makes a great dinner.
The condominium has its' own equipped exercise room and an adjacent covered swimming pool on the 5th Floor. There is also 24-hour Security cover and CCTV..

Chaing Mai is a popular with tourists from Europe, the US and Asia and has many local attractions. It is also a convenient location for exploring northern Thailand with the additional option of visiting Laos, Cambodia or Vietnam for two or three days.

Where is it?

This is the most rapidly developing area of the city with new hotels, guest houses and restaurants opening each time we go. The attraction is the proximity to the river and the fact that the old city is so full of temples that new development is very restricted. The major markets are the other side of the bridge (about 400 yards) and the Night Market about 1,000 yards.
