“The location was great, away from the hustle and bustle of Chiangmai. The local food stalls were very good and we ate there many times. The only thing to mention is that there are no bars in the area ( no alcohol is sold around the university) but you can travel into town if you want a drink or a more upmarket restaurant.. we signed up to MOBIKE ( you need a Thai SIM card) so we’re able to use bicycles to get around ( you can pick them up & drop them off in various locations) ”

“Sorry for being so slow. I thought I had already done this review. The hosts communication was excellent as always. The swimming pool was nice. Quiet complex. Close walk to 7 eleven and cheap cafes... I really enjoyed my stay 10/10. A nice place. Regards john Mathieson Auckland New Zealand”
“Wiwat, I believe, owns several studio apartments in this compound and so its a little different from going into someones home. It was actually very similar to a jolly nice spacious hotel room. It was very clean and extremely comfortable - lovely bed linen, comfy bed, efficient air-conditioning, very light and airy, well decorated. Our room had a great view through the compound and out over the forest and hills. The swimming pool was beautiful and the gym (my daughters visited, I didn't) was apparently well equipped and pleasant. Being able to use bikes from the reception was a big plus. I have suggested to Wiwat that he create a welcome pack for guests so they can know better what to expect and some information on the area as I felt a bit 'blind' on arrival. I am sure he will, but in the meantime, here are some pointers that I hope you will find helpful: - The kitchenette has a decent sized fridge, microwave and kettle but you can't cook as such - Loo roll, dishwashing liquid is not provided (although I have suggested its a good idea to have at least one loo roll there for people arriving, so they are not caught short) - There is a 7/11 a short walk from the house where you can get the basics. The closest well equipped 'Ferang' supermarket is Rimping in the Maya shopping complex about 1.5 km away. - One major snag (not at all Wiwats fault obviously) is that the GPS shows the complex to be down a lane just behind it. Keep on the main Suthep Road until you pass Roastniyom coffee shop and aa restaurant and its the next left right off the main road. This is a challenge when using Uber so I suggest you type the directions out on google translate and have the message ready in Thai to send to uber drivers. Otherwise go to Roastniyom and call the uber from there. A couple of uber drivers gave up on us, including the one taking us to the airport which was a bit of a stress! There are quite often red taxi's outside. They are supposed to charge 30 bhat per person but sometimes its 50 if there are only a couple of you or its peak time. They can pick up other passengers enroute. - Be aware there is another DCondo which is miles away so always stress DCondo Campus resort, Suthep. We got taken to the other one after a cooking lesson and felt awful that we had not realised we were 10 km in the wrong direction. - You can top up your phone credit at 7/11 and buy bundles for your local sim card so you have internet everywhere you go, useful for uber! - There is a laundry room on the ground floor near the entrance - washing machines needing 30 or 50 bhat in 10 bhat coins, but no dryers - There are quite a few restaurants near the condo's. My daughter tried a couple after we left but I didn't. However, we did go straight up the hill into the forest one evening and found Galae restaurant which has a super ambiance right on a lake. Food was good, service was quick and not too expensive for the kind of restaurant it is. Was packed with Thai's. Take mosquito repellant!! - Just at the end of Suthep very close to the condo's you can take a left at the sign that says something like 'the worlds largest wooden Ganesh'. Follow the signs that lead down an alley parallel to the Forest and you will come across the most exquisite art gallery owned by a very unique man. Lots of fabulous work in progress as well as said Ganesh. The eccentric owner Khem is normally there, seek him out and let him tell you his story. Take 100 bhat each to buy an offering for Ganesh and get blessed. Otherwise entry is free. - We cycled through the university compound and as you come out the other side, take a left towards Chiang Mai Zoo. You will see the parking area for the red taxi's to Doi Suthep. You can leave your bicycle parked there and head up to this famous temple. Tip: pay a bit more than the 40 bhat if you have not got the 'obligatory' 10 people rather than waiting ages to fill the vehicle. You will find vehicles there coming down, don't agree to use the same vehicle unless you want to hang around waiting for everyone else. - There are a couple of cute coffee houses inside the compound. - The condo's are a few km from the old town but we really liked getting out of the city and being close to the forest and clean air. Ubers and taxi's are plentiful and very cheap. Its also not far from the airport. - We travelled by overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai - second class. It was exceptional! All in all I would highly recommend this swap. Wiwat was very nice and kind, but he was travelling in Europe when we were there, so responses sometimes took a while. Best to use Messenger when communicating with him once you have sealed the deal and have each others contacts. A big thank you to him for a fantastic stay in a fantastic city.”
“We enjoyed our visit to Chiang Mai. The condo is nice as are the facilities. Nice swimming pool and grounds, but no stove to cook. Transportation is needed to visit downtown tourist sites. ”
“Great Apartment in a fab location loved the empty swimming pool, would definitely recommend. Many thanks Karen ”
