I visited all Mediterranean coastal area and some coastal places in the South USA and Bahamas to search for a place to live after my retirement. Finally I found and decided to live here in such a wonderful place. I was proud of my decision when American business magazine Forbes selects ‘Akyarlar Beach, Bodrum’ among Top of World’s Most Luxurious Beaches. (www.forbes.com June 02, 2005) Club Beach is just across Kos Island (Greece - only 3 miles) and ideal place for snorkelling in crystal clear waters and feeling in huge aquarium full of fishes.
Easy access to Akyarlar (1 miles), Turgutreis (3 miles), Bodrum (18 miles) and airport (Milas-Bodrum 37 miles).
Bodrum (ancient name is Halicarnassus, birth place of famous historian Heredotus) is Turkey’s liveliest holiday resort.
1) Historic: The Mausoleum of Maussolus, built between 353-350 BC, regarded as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. You will certainly admire the Castle of St. Peter built by the Knights of Rhodes in 1404. Under Water Museum. Ancient Theatre.
2) Clear crystal water for swimming, snorkelling and sailing. A boat trip is a must. You can visit Greek islands. Daily boat tour to Kos (home of Hypocrites-father of Medicine) from Bodrum and Turgutreis (takes 30-45 minutes). You can visit Rhodes or take boat to well known Greek Islands like Myconos.
3) Crazy night life till dawn. Most popular night life in Turkey, preferred by Turkish artists, rich people and tourists. Too much restaurants and pubs, full of people.
4) Famous market places and many big supermarkets. Every weekend thousands of Greek people come to Bodrum and Turgutreis for shopping.

We are Azmi and Zelis late 40’s. I am an economist (working for a bank). My wife worked as head of IT department in a bank and manager of human resources department of an IT firm and now a painter. We like travelling and visited 40 countries in 4 continents. I like doing sports (swimming, sailing, skiing, tennis, mountaineering etc) reading and writing. My wife, outward oriented, likes travelling, swimming, reading and painting. Our son studies engineering and lives in the university dormitory in Istanbul.
We have 2 flat in Istanbul (capital of Byzantine and Ottoman Empire in history and chosen as cultural capital of Europe for 2010). Therefore the exchange does not need to take place at the same time and hospitality exchange are welcome.
