The area offers stunning views, is ideal for walking & hiking, also water sports. There's a surf shop where you can hire surf boards, wetsuits etc. Children's play area & woodland centre is 5 mins walk. Miniature railway. Lots for families to do. Train station 2 minutes walk. Various local shops, selling quality local produce, farmers market every month. Local pubs serving 'Real Ale'. In summer there are open air concerts, events for children on the beach & the woodland centre, and a highly regarded folk festival.
In the winter when the crowds have gone we have eight miles of great beach to ourselves. It's a fantastic place for children but there are great amenities for the grown ups too!
We are on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, close to the historic town of Whitby(setting for Bram Stoker's Dracula)& within very easy access of Durham, Northumberland, York, and the Yorkshire Dales(Bronte country).
