About our home

We are looking for weekend swaps in the UK, our house is a beautiful large Georgian family home. The kitchen dates back to 1640! The house looks down on a large sloping garden with an amazing valley view.
The 3 story house has been lovingly decorated to make the best of a period property. It has been in our family since 1926 and has many pieces of antique furniture.
There are 3 double bedrooms (one master with ensuite). 4 single bedrooms. One of the double rooms has a single in it aswell. One of the double rooms can be made up as twin beds. W have 3 bathrooms (plus downstairs toilet), 2 sitting rooms and large kitchen/diner.
An outdoor tea house provides the perfect ambiance for an evening glass of wine after a hard day's sightseeing! BBQ available too.
The large 2 acre garden is a children's heaven for play - we run an after school club for our work and the garden is a playground. It has many places to relax if you are an adult and also has lots of play equipment if you have children like a zip wire, a tent full of little bikes, trikes, go-karts, sand pit, many little structures and houses for dens.
If you have children we have a good selection of indoor toys, books and DVDs. Both beds in their room are adult sized so would suit children of any age.
Our house is located a 15 minute drive away from Bath in a beautiful small village. It's a tight-knit community so if you wanted to meet the locals you could, but the property is also very private and quiet if you want to keep to yourselves.
Bath offers a unique experience with stunning architecture, great shopping and iconic attractions. You will find the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, examples of beautiful Georgian architecture, traditional pubs, a vast selection of shops and restaurants. Nearby places of interest are the village of Castle Combe, and places further afield in the South West e.g. Stone Henge etc. Check out the Bath Tourist Site: http://visitbath.co.uk/
There is a park within a 5 minute drive, which has a fantastic playground for children, a cafe and on going events.
Getting to central London couldn't be easier - it is an hour and a half hour by train, 100 miles on the motorway.
We have a VW Passat which may be available for car swap.
