About our home

Our home was originally a shepherd's house on the edge of 2000 acres of Oxfordshire countryside, used by him/her tending the flocks of Lord Abingdon around 1750. It is a bit bigger now with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 reception rooms, study, laundry room and large totally tranquil garden with hot-tub. It is on the edge of the small village of Beckley, which has a wonderful traditional English Pub, The Abingdon Arms (great food, drink, indoor rooms and terrace). There is a Church that dates to Norman times. It is a few miles drive to the outskirts of Oxford, or 5 miles to the very centre - there is Park&Ride or CityCentreParking. Oxford Train Station has links to all cities. There is a local train station in the next village, Islip, with direct trains to London - alternatively the Park&Ride has two bus routes into London. Bicester's Shopping Village is a popular location, as is Oxford's Westgate Shopping Centre. Woodstock Town is a short drive, to visit Bleinheim Palace the birthplace of Winston Churchill. Main highways to the North and South are close by.
