About our home

Our Edwardian three story home is located directly on the River Tweed with views of Bamburgh Castle & Holy Island. From the master bedroom, you can see the sun rise over the North Sea. Renovated in 2010, the house has a mixture of contemporary finishes and antique furniture. There are three double bedrooms - two facing the sea and the third the town's medieval town walls and our terraced garden. Berwick upon Tweed is a historic town with famous town walls which rival those of York. It is an ideal spot for writers, painters or those wishing to be in a peaceful, beautiful location. Located on the main East Coast train line, you can easily get to the airports at Newcastle or Edinburgh - both within an hour.

Berwick-upon-Tweed is one of England's secret gems. It is located on a coastline designated an area of outstanding natural beauty with its wide golden beaches and dramatic bays. Its location on the Scottish border has made the town a historic 'must-have' with Berwick changing hands 13 times between England and Scotland! As you can see from the photos, the house is located on the Tweed Estuary where the river meets the North Sea. We often see seals from the living room window - most recently one tossed a salmon into the air! There is also a large swan population which drifts past the house at dusk.

Edinburgh is easily accessible by train as is Newcastle-upon-Tyne for day-trips.

We hope we can introduce you to the beauty of Northumberland!
