About our home

More pictures soon! Following a major extension and refurbishment in 2012 our house offers a peaceful retreat in beautiful North Devon. Surrounded by ancient woodland (much of which belongs to the property) most people say that they feel more relaxed the minute they arrive and yet we are only 2 minutes drive from the market town of Bideford and 5 minutes from the family surfing beach of Westward Ho!

We have two large verandas at the front of the property, one of which opens up from the kitchen / dining area and everyday living space. Half covered and half open it’s great for outdoor eating whatever the weather. The property itself is set into a hillside but we do have a large flat garden to the front.

The original house was a colonial style bungalow and we have converted this part of the house into the main bedroom quarters. With four double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room and a family bathroom. There is also a small room which we are currently using as a nursery if anyone has a baby! The other double bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and its own shower room and is located above the kitchen, next to the main living room. The main living room is a lovely light and airy space with a vaulted ceiling and doors that fold open onto the upstairs veranda.
