About our home

Our house is a 2.5-bedroom mid-terraced Edwardian house in a quiet, tree-lined street. It has two big bedrooms, a small bedroom with a cot, open planned lounge-dining and a conservatory leading to the garden at the back of the house. The kitchen is well-sized and the bathroom has a spa-bath. It has wireless broadband and Sky TV. The neighbours on either side are both really friendly/helpful and very quiet.

My wife, young son and I are looking to get away to the continent for a short-term exchange (up to 10 days) over summer 2008. We're flexible with destinations and specific dates, but can't get away for too long. We'd be happy to talk with prospective house-swappers about the area and the city.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in a really nice part of Birmingham- an hours walk or 10 minutes drive to the city, and 15 minutes walk to the Kings Heath high street with lots of shops and cafes. It's only 5 minutes walk from one of the canals that runs through the city, which is really nice for walking, jogging or cycling. It's also only 10 miles from Birmingham International airport, and Birmingham New Street train station is one of the best serviced in the country (1.5 hours to London or Manchester). Birmingham is a great base from which to explore/travel around Britain and Europe.
