About our home

Tower Barn sits in absolute privacy just 10 minutes drive from the World Heritage City of Bath.

It is a mixture of Elizabethan, Georgian and more modern buildings. Its latest role was as a milking shed in Georgian times but part of it was a piggery in Elizabethan times. It has a hacienda type layout with a mainly single storey building encircling a large garden. Ceiling to floor glass runs along every single reception room and there are double doors opening onto the garden from every reception room bar one.
There are three doubles, a children's twin and one single room. There is also a sofa bed in the play room.
The property is attached to a private 3 1/3 acre field. A pony comes with full tack to be brushed and ridden by the children of those who can prove they have sufficient knowledge.
There is a large eat in (14) kitchen that runs into a large open sitting room with log burner, piano (slightly out of key...but when you're bashing out a tune in the late evening this won't matter!), tv and plenty of books to rummage through and board games to play. This runs into a magnificent curved conservatory with olive trees, lavender and a fabulous sitting area below candles and horse head lights. And then this runs onto a large ping pong room (get practising for that family competition) that runs into a large fully stocked playroom (with sofa bed if you are spilling over in the bedrooms) with table football, playmobil, lego, books, tv, dvd, wii and xbox plus plenty of computer games. The garden is 100% private. Children are 100% safe. There are plenty of places to dine in the garden surrounded by fruit trees. There is also a very mature raspberry area and a large netted trampoline for all those energetic children.

There are two bathrooms - one with shower, one with bath. They are...well the best way to describe them is 'old'! but they work and the reason the house is on at this amazing price as they do not get refurbished until October 2013. There is also a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and two fridges (one is a hug family size).
A garage is available for one car as the other half is full of bikes (you are welcome to use these), tack, skate boards etc.

This is a magnificent home with many quirky and eccentric touches. Our home reflects all the cultural influences of our travels. Whether it's an oversize pair of Cambodian wedding salad servers, or a hand woven Mexican folk scene or a life-size hand made Nepalese tiger rug hanging above the master bed, we think you will love it all. We defy you not to feel relaxed and happy while staying in this house.
