About our home

Our home was built in the 1890s yet has been modernised while retaining some Victorian charm. Downstairs are two bright rooms, a lounge/diner with sofas, tv, dvd and video player, cd player/radio. Our kitchen has a small dining table and looks out onto the 40ft (12 metre) garden. It has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, oven and hob. On the next floor are a double and a single bedroom plus a modern bathroom with Jacuzzi. The floor above is a recent extention comprising a modern light room with a smart ensuite shower room. We use it as a den/computer area with one large and one small sofa. Both can convert into beds, giving an additional sleeping area for three people. The basement comprises a storage and utility room with washer/dryer and fridge/freezer. We have a small yard at the front. The tidy rear garden is mostly lawn, with a furnished patio area and a new gas barbecue. This is a comfortable family home, with adaptable sleeping arrangements.

Where is it?

This is a quiet, residential area of west London, yet has easy access to underground and overground trains to reach central London in about half an hour. Additionally there are many local buses. Tube trains run direct to the "museum district" of South Kensington or right into the heart of London. Heathrow Airport is 20 minutes by tube. The overground train from nearby Brentford station goes direct to Waterloo, close to the London Eye observation wheel, the arts complex of the South Bank with the National Theatre, Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe theatre, the London Aquarium and Imax cinema. We are close to the greenery of Kew Gardens and Syon Park (both with historic Palaces open to the public) and the River Thames is a ten minute walk away. Ealing is just to the north, Chiswick with its fabulous restaurants to the west, and historic Richmond and its park just over the River Thames. A number of friendly local pubs are within walking distance, many serving good meals at reasonable prices. International cuisine can be found at nearby Indian, Thai, Chinese and other ethnic restaurants. Further afield you can explore Windsor and the castle, Legoland for all the family and the many quaint river-side towns along the Thames. We will provide visitors with detailed information on how best to get around and explore the area.
