About our home

We live in an old farmhouse with modern additions set in two and half acres of natural garden up a drive in the middle of farmland. The house is light and airy and designed for ease of living. The main living area is open-plan, combining a modern glass room and a kitchen with an Aga. There is also a study, a guest room with en suite and a snug with log burning stove. Upstairs there are four double bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The open plan area has been designed so you feel like you are sitting in the garden. There are two large ponds, an orchard and a wild flower meadow with a swimming pool. There is a vegetable patch valiantly defended from deer, hare and slugs. The garden has recently become home to a family of badgers.

We are in a secluded spot between the villages of Brettenham and Kettlebaston and well served for footpaths. The immaculately preserved medieval village of Lavenham with its cafes, restaurants and art galleries is four miles away and Long Melford, known for its antique shops, is a little further on. We are one hour’s drive from Cambridge and two hour’s drive from London. We are one hour from Stanstead airport and twenty minutes from Stowmarket train station which provides a direct service to Norwich and London amongst other destinations.

You would need a car which we would be happy to swap.
