About our home

My house is located in the Clifton/Montpelier conservation area. It is one of Brighton's premiere residential areas, quiet, but just minutes from the shopping centre and beach. The house was built c 1840, is Grade 11 listed by the English National Heritage Society. It has been extensively modernised while keeping its original Victorian features. The house, is charming, light and although there are (elderly) neighbours on either side you would never know you are in the centre of one of the UK's most vibrant cities. There are two double bedrooms, both a good size, one bathroom with contemporary fittings and power shower, plus a separate WC. In the main living area there is a 50 plasma television, Kef sound system and (new) PS3 for Blue Ray DVDs and games. There is also a sofa bed in the downstairs area, so it is possible to sleep up to six people. There is a contemporary Italian dining table and designer chairs, state of the art hi-fi and lovely light off of the sea. The house has sea views, and a compact back patio area where you can eat al fresco. The kitchen has a brand new washing machine and gas cooker. It has an original Victorian butler's sink, and I have tried to keep the look of the house as original as possible, while also making it comfortable. If you need a base for the London Olympics, the house is perfect - a ten minute walk to the mainline station, and fast trains to London (one hour) 4 times per hour. You can be in the countryside within 20 minutes, and there are endless high quality, easily accessible attractions. It is a beautiful home.
