About our home

Our spacious home is situated in a beautiful part of the South Downs (close to the village of Falmer) in the newly formed National Park, but is very close to the lively coastal city of Brighton (4 miles) and the same distance from the unique medieval town of Lewes. Brighton is only 50 minutes to the centre of London by train. We are a family of seven and it is easy to escape to a quiet area in its many reception, study and bedrooms. The house has a wonderful walled garden for privacy and other land.

It is idea for country walks and picnics or mountain biking or horse-riding. It is truly one of the most beautiful parts of Britain. You can walk to the local train station and go into Brighton for shopping, nightlife or the beach or drive to the sea at Rottingdean or may other places. Lewes is an ancient and unique town with an interesting history.

We are experienced professionals - Greg is a lecturer in international politics and human rights; Jane is a senior civil servant/legal advisor. We have five children. Jane is a very good French speaker with not bad German, Greg has reasonable Spanish. We love music, especially classical and play ourselves. We love the countryside (especially mountainous) and being by the sea. Our children are aged 15-6 approximately.
