Our chalet bungalow home in Broadstairs is ideal for a family holiday being in a quiet road, with a garden in front and having a lovely, large enclosed back garden, sleeping accommodation both upstairs and downstairs, two toilets, shower and utility room. It is double glazed throughout, has drive in for a car . There is a Summer House with comfortable armchairs for restful moments at the bottom of the garden.
The bungalow is set in a quiet road with no yellow lines or parking restrictions, ten minutes walk to the beach, the cliffs and historic old Broadstairs where there are plenty of very good eateries at all price levels, including the much advertised Morelli's Milk Bar famous for its fabulous ices. Beach-side Cafe's serve wonderful breakfasts and the beach is safe and clean and boasts colourful Beach-Huts and childrens' trampolines, swings, slides etc. There are lovely cliff-top walks in both directions to visit neighbouring towns and frequent buses to nearby Sandwich, Canterbury, Whitstable etc. Cross channel Ferry to Oostende operates from Ramsgate, two miles away and from Dover to French ports. London is just over an hour away by train. The Powell-Cotton Museum is well worth a visit - Collection of stuffed and mounted rare animals, Indian and Chinese silverware and ceramics and a fine old house open to visitors with Restaurant and tea rooms. Howletts and Port Lympne Zoos are at Canterbury and Port Lympne and Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve with Highland Cattle and horses is about six miles away. Westwood Cross is a big shopping centre close by. Lovely afternoon teas at Walpole Bay Hotel, a well restored Edwardian Hotel incorporating a museum of hotel artefacts.
We are Terry and June Mulgrew, retired now but busy, as we act as a host family to foreign language students from Kent School of English. We have three grandchildren who live locally and spend time working in our vegetable garden, reading for a Book Group, and Terry sings in the Thanet Male Voice Choir. June's hobby is making Fascinators (small head decorations) for parties, Folk Week etc. We have good neighbours who have said they would be more than happy to provide information, help if needed to any visitors.
