About our home

Lovely english country home and gardens of great character dated 1928, was remodelled by us with a contemporary twist. A mix of antique and contemporary furniture and decorative items from around the world, including original art. There is an open log fire for snug winters, lovely flower garden, orchard and outdoor swimming pool and pool Shepherd's Hut. Our ponies roam in our front paddocks, whilst deer roam in our back paddocks. Our gardener handyman lives in the adjoining cottage . A car possibly available by arrangement. The house is very private and secluded being surrounded by The New Forest National Park, so lovely walks and cycle paths are right outside the front gates. Ponies and cattle roam free here and there are many old character Pubs and restaurants nearby, as well as several very upmarket hotels and spas. Just 5 minutes drive to the charming historic Georgian sailing town of Lymington, with ferry link to the Isle Of Wight for day trips. The village of Brockenhurst is 1.5 miles with village shops, bank, restaurants and the mainline railway station to London a journey of 1.5 hours so possible for day trips. There are numerous attractions here for visitors, sports, history, culture abound. Additionally we can arrange some fishing, yacht or rib boat (charter or courses with qualifications) riding or foxhunting (drag) or pheasant or clay shooting for you.

Mel 's reviews

As a host (1)

More about us

  1. We are a very active, sporty, social family of four.

  2. I (Mel) am an Artist and I run high-end Shepard’s Hut's (glamping) in my paddock. I also love boats and water as well as competing in my classic car. As a family, we adore the sea!

My grown-up children predominantly live in London and work in gastro-festivals, recruitment and investment banking.

  3. We have all travelled widely…

Our preferred UK destination would be the South or South West coast. Globally we are keen to explore interesting cities; beaches; islands; safaris and ranches!

London swap not required as we have a flat in Battersea Park (see listing if you are interested!).
