“What a fabulous stay in a beautiful, thatched house. With oodles of character, plenty of space and a huge garden, we felt delighted to be staying in such a fabulous home. The house was cosy and warm for our December stay and the three generations in our family all want to return! With local walks, historic sites (Stonehenge and Avebury) and bustling market towns to visit, this area of Wiltshire has so much to offer. We even had a day out at the seaside! Tim and Hope were perfect hosts, communication was great. There was homemade sourdough bread for us on arrival, festive decorations in the house and a Christmas tree had been organised for us too. We would just love to stay again! ”

“We had a wonderful time at Tims place in Witshire, The location, the house, the beautiful garden, the kitchen with AGA XL Cooker was such a joy to cook with! Hope and Tim made us feel so welcome in their home. Wiltshire is a beautiful region and close by Marlborough catered for all our needs. ”
“We had a wonderful stay at Tim and Joy's gracious home in Ram Alley. The pictures do not do justice to this truly lovely, light-filled home and its sprawling gardens. We were greeted with groceries and a fabulous homemade cake, and immediately felt at ease in the home's comfortable spaces. There was plenty of room for myself and my husband, my in-laws and our two young boys. Tim and Joy were extremely generous and provided all the necessary instructions for the house, as well as tips for outings in the area, walks, pubs, fishing spots, etc. (My husband's fishing excursion was a huge success, except that he didn't catch any fish!) We took a number of nice walks and made one trip with the awesome trail bikes. Our boys loved the garden, playing hide-in-seek among the trees, and peeking into the vegetable cages. Several afternoon outings were canceled in favour of more quality time in the yard. Marlborough is a nice town and has more to offer than initially meets the eye. We also enjoyed an afternoon in the antique shops in Hungerford and a day-trip to Salisbury. I only wish we had explored more. Top marks all around! Thank you! ”
“We love Tim and Hope’s beautiful house. Great location and stunning throughout. Great hosts and we very much look forward to swapping again in the future. My daughter loved your fireplace and my son loved the garden. 5 stars all around. ”
“The property was warm and welcoming with the Aga in the kitchen when you came back from a cold day out sight-seeing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the peacefulness of the countryside. Tim and Hope were very friendly and easy to deal with and we would recommend this lovely home.”
“After our trip across Japan, the French Alps and London we spent the last week of our tour in Hope and Tims place in Wiltshire. We absolutely loved the house for the authenticity, the comfort, the space and the location. The garden is absolutely fantastic, we hed the best weather and could use the produce of the vegetable garden. We loved the very well equipped kitchen and cooking on the AGA (I want one now ”
“This is an amazing house with an amazing garden! We loved every minute of our stay. Tim and Hope were great hosts. They gave us a lot of information about the house and area in advance, and were very quick to respond to questions. They even bought us some essential groceries for when we arrived, seeing as we were travelling with small children. The house itself is huge and beautifully decorated. We stayed there with our 4 children and there was plenty of space for everyone. There are some very historic parts of the house with beautiful old beams and big open fires and some more modern parts which you would hardly see are later additions but offer spaces with huge widows onto the lovely garden. There are many walks in the surrounding area, across fields, through woods, and along the canal so it is perfect for getting some fresh ai and exercise before having a big family dinner in the beautiful farmhouse kitchen. Really a great place- thank you Tim & Hope for the wonderful mini-break.”
“The place is quiet, they are very nice and available. Tim and Hope were magnificent! We will definitely return and strongly recommend being hosted by Tim. Everything was perfect. Thank you Tim and Hope for everything. Also for the cake and the fruits of your garden. See you soon.”
“Tim and Hope were more than accommodating towards us. We had a wonderful stay in this, their quintessentially English, chocolate-box pictured, beautiful thatched house, oozing with character and charm. Everything anyone could ever want for a perfect stay in the English countryside. Secluded, yet close enough to all the amenities - like good shops and pubs, with so much to explore and visit, together with an easy train journey to London from a choice of stations made this home ideal for the odd day trip also. Thank you, Tim and Hope for making it all possible. What terrific hosts! ”
“Tim and Hope's home is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful comfortable furnishings, tonnes of space indoors and outside. A kitchen to die for! Tim and Hope were fantastic with all their pre-trip advice and information, we couldn't have asked for more.”
“Always a delight to have them staying with us.”
