About our home

Our house isn't posh, but it's very comfortable, convenient, spacious and efficient. It has a large (very large, by London standards) south-facing, tree-filled, walled garden, with quick and easy access to local shopping, restaurants and buses and the huge open expanse of Hampstead Heath.

On the top floor there is a double bedroom with a balcony which has spectacular views over London and a bathroom.

Our main double bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom is on the first floor, where there is also a twin bedroom and the family bathroom. Our two studies (both with broadband internet) are also on the first floor, and one of them has sofa bed for a couple of short-term visitors.

On the ground floor is the large sitting room with a "coal-effect" gas fire and decent, but not enormous, TV (100+ stations and hard disc recorder); an archway leads into the dining room (comfortable seating for 8) with French doors onto the garden.

There’s a well equipped eat-in kitchen and a separate utility room and downstairs wc.

We have secure gated off-street parking, where we keep the Toyota Prius (exempt from the infamous Central London congestion charge) – we would be happy to do a car swap, if you are interested.

More about us

  1. We're a retired couple in our 60's. Alison was a book publisher; Richard was an advertising man. We don't smoke; we're tidy and clean, will treat your home with respect., and will leave it the way we find it.

  2. Our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter live in Rose Bay, and we try to visit them once a year. We are fixed up for 2013, and are now looking to plan for a month or so in September, October or November 2014. We are ONLY interested in these dates, and in properties within 20 minutes or so of Rose Bay; if you don't meet those requirements, please don't waste your time (and ours) .

  3. We would be keen to exchange cars as well. Ours is a Prius Hybrid (easy to drive, and free access to the London Congestion Zone)
