About our home

We designed and built our home 20 years ago. It is spacious, has nice furniture and kept in good order. There are surrounding trees and a feeling of privacy. There is a big comfortable lounge with open fire, kitchen with hand made units and informal dining, formal dining room, study, large open entrance hall, three large bedrooms and small gym. Our conservatory leads out to the garden area that is perfect for children and parties. We often put up our marquee for summer parties. There are guitars you can use. We have sky+ TV and there is also a wireless network. We have a lexus jeep that you might use.

More about us

  1. Ursula and I are in our early 50s. Ursula is a chartered accountant and we own a childcare business. We have one daughter Rachael who works in the performing arts. We have a lot of our family living close by and they will leave you in privacy but will help and advise you if you want. I have a couple of guitars and enjoy playing the odd gig. We both play golf and would usually want somewhere to play golf on holiday. We would consider visiting anywhere so long as it isn't too hot (under 30 degrees C). We will look after your home and we don't smoke.

Where is it?

We live on the edge of Carrickfergus which is a seaside town well known for it's brilliantly preserved 12th century Castle. There is also a nice harbour and marina and there are a number of decent restaurants. There is a very good leisure centre with pool about 15 minutes walk. For amazing night life and shopping you can walk to the train station in 15 minutes and travel to Belfast which takes a further 20 - 30 minutes. Belfast has everything you could want in a modern vibrant accessable city centre. It has several great concert/theatre venues and a great pub culture. The city tour bus is well worth trying if you are interested in seeing where the Titanic was built and getting an understanding of our violent conflict that ended just in the past ten years. Northern Irelnd is now one of the safest places in the world to live. You can travel anywhere in Northern Ireland in a couple of hours and if you are into golf there over 100 courses including two top ten in Europe. We are on the Antrim coast that is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It leads to our world heritage site at the 'giants causeway'. If you get tired of Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland is very accessable with Dublin only two hours by car or why not travel there by train. It's not expensive and a very simple journey.
