About our home

The Nest is a delightful little character cottage located in the picturesque village of Castleton in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. The cottage is exactly what the name suggests and may be quite small, but perfectly formed, and is an ideal retreat for couples looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of their busy lives. The cottage welcomes you with an inviting log burner in the lounge, a lovely cosy feature and ideal to sit in front of after a hard days walking in the area. The nest is a perfect base to start your walking or cycling holiday from with a number of pathways and cycle tracks direct from your front door, where you can appreciate some stunning scenery along the breathtaking Esk Valley. The cottage has retained many character features, and has been furnished and decorated to a high standard whilst retaining the feel and character of the cottage. Whilst Castleton is very much a rural village it has a thriving community with ample provision for visitors and boasts a Village shop, Cooperative store, tea rooms, two public houses, post office, garage, bank and the Esk Valley Railway which travels through breathtaking scenery between Middlesbrough and the popular seaside town of Whitby.
