Features

More about us

  1. I have always been an avid traveller, despite having had established careers within the field of 'education.' I work part-time and enjoy the balance I have at last achieved, through having more time to pursue interests and one of those is travel!

  2. My son is now married and flown the nest. There is so much more to do and to see in life. 'Home Swap' is an excellent route to making life more fruitful.

  3. I am very much a film 'buff, including foreign films, and visit the cinema 2/3 times a week. I also love music of all types and enjoy art in all it's different forms. To experience all this, in another cultual setting/s fills me with great excitement.

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
Moran's wine bar and restaurant is really great. You can go for a quiet drink, an amazing selection of 'bar' snacks, hot or cold. Restaurant is always full, but cannot book in advance, unless you are a group of six guests. It is a 5 minute walk from the house.
Cool bars
Huge selection of good pubs, which all offer lunch and evening meals. The Exmouth and The Norwood are also family pubs with outdoor garden areas for eating, drinking and play fir children. Live bands also play at the Exmouth where the music is performed outside in the summer months, with barbecues available too.
Cozy cafés
There must be 7-8 cosy cafes just in the Bath Road which is where all the local socialising happens. Just 3 minutes from the house. Cheltenham town centre is a brisk 10 minute walk, but there are bus stops close to the house, which take you into town.
Retail therapy
All main chain stores are available in town and more quality shops along the Promenade. Department stores are Debenhams and The House of Fraser in town.
Bit of culture
Everyman theatre is great for live performances, as well as a good range of films at the Cineworld, showing all the latest movies.
Walks in the park
There is a very pretty park near Naunton Crescent, which is 5 minutes form the house. Largr parks with swimming and outdoor activities are Pittville Park and Sandford Park, both of which are open early, usually for enthusiastic jogggers!
Spot of exercise
There are local gyms nearby in Mead Road, which is a 5 minute walk, or gyms in town and one just next door to the Cineworld film centre.
Day tripping
Huge amount of places to see in the Cotswold area. There is a regular coach service to these hot-spots about a 10-12 minute walk away or the bus goes directly. Bus no. F just outside the Norwood public house, opposite my road.
