We are situated in a Close on the edge of a small Cotswold town with a lovely view from upstairs and pretty stone Alms Houses opposite and are within easy reach of Cheltenham and many beautiful Cotswold villages. Golf courses and riding stables are nearby plus The Cotswold Wild Life Park and Cotswold Farm Park, which specialises in many rare breeds. Sudeley Castle, the last home of Katherine Parr the surviving wife of Henry VIII, is here in Winchcombe and 2012 celebrates the 500 anniversary of her birth. Stratford upon Avon is a half hour drive away, Oxford an hour and London 2 1/2 hours. There is a local bus service to Cheltenham and nearby towns and villages. We are centrally located with easy access to the rest of the UK by car and with a fast train service to London and the rest of the country from Cheltenham and Evesham.
The Cotswolds is designated AONB ie an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty and it really is stunningly beautiful. There are many wonderful walks in the area and many Grade Two listed properties in the town. We are a Walkers are Welcome Town and also a Fair Trade town and have many small local shops which include two butchers, a baker, chemist, gift shop, antique shops and a small supermarket. Cheltenham is a shoppers paradise with its Promenade Boutiques, the wonderful Montpellier area and the Suffolks with its many antique shops. Browse Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh or drive down to Tetbury where Prince Charles' Highgrove shop sells many delicasies. This truly is a wonderful area and we consider ourselves very fortinate to live here. Come and enjoy it!

We are a retired couple in our 70's. John was a Royal Marine Officer and later a school burser and I was an office Manager / Administrator. We both love to travel and are taking full advantage of our retirement to see and do as much as possible. We are both sun, sea and sand lovers and spend as much of each winter as possible in warmer climes. I lived for many years in South Africa and have many family members in Cape Town, hence our request for a South African exchange. January and part February 2012 we are spending in Fremantle in Australia and will be three weeks in America June / July 2012.
We are both home lovers and keen gardeners, well, I am keen and John just goes along with it! We have an extended family throughout the world, here in the UK, South Africa and the USA.
If we are succesful in obtaining an exchange home in Cape Town we would like it to have at least two bedrooms so that we can have family members to stay occasionally.
