About our home

Our home in West Sussex is a perfect antidote to everyday stress! Located in the heart of the South Downs, it boasts uninterrupted views across the Downs, and towards Chichester and the English Channel, and unrivalled privacy. No neighbours, and pheasant, partridge and deer in the paddock and neighbouring fields.

The house offers an exceptional level of comfort. All rooms are bright and spacious, boasting views across the countryside. The drawing room, hall and TV room have wood stoves for added comfort, but the house is warm and well constructed. The drawing room has an excellent digital Meridian hi-fi system, and the TV room a great Bang&Olufsen system (also in the three main bedrooms). The large kitchen is practical and welcoming, with Bulthaup/Poggenpohl units, double Miele ovens and dishwashers, SubZero fridge, and large Aga stove. There is a separate utility room, with separate Miele washer and dryer. The four principal bedrooms all have excellent quality beds, and fine linens.

The garden has magnificent views in all directions, with a Webber grill for summer eating. Several acres of paddock surround the house, beyond which there are fields and woods.

The local area offers a wide range of opportunities. There are lovely walks and cycle trails direct from the front door up onto the Downs, and through quaint villages. Local pubs are excellent. Swimming and great beach at West Wittering for the hardy! There are many local sites worth visiting including Chichester (cathedral, Festival Theatre, and West Pallant art gallery), Roman villa at Bignor, Petworth House and Park, Uppark, Goodwood for the Festival of Speed and horseracing, Arundel Castle etc etc. Otherwise it is just a joy to stay at the house, and enjoy the tranquil views.

We also have a beautiful flat in Westminster, Central London, that is available for a home swap. KINDLY ONLY CONTACT US IF YOU HAVE A COMPARABLE PROPERTY TO SWAP. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN SWAP POINTS
