About our home

Our lovely home is part of a pretty farm conversion, and our house is a converted flour mill. Our home is at the foot of the Kilpatrick hills – you can literally walk out the back door and start climbing! The courtyard is very quiet and feels rural, yet you can walk to the local shop in less than 10 minutes, and Glasgow centre is a mere 20 minute drive away. Local towns of Bearsden and Milngavie provide a wealth of restaurants, cafes, leisure facilities, and bars, while Glasgow provides all the amenities you’d expect from a modern cosmopolitan city.
We fell in love with this house as soon as we stepped inside, and we are sure you will too. Downstairs houses 3 bedrooms and a home office – the master has shower ensuite, laundry and a large family bathroom.
Upstairs is a magnificent open plan area comprising living/dining/kitchen space. There’s a mezzanine level which we have furnished as an office, with a futon bed for guests.
The house has been beautifully renovated throughout and the original features include the beams and waterwheel. There is a gorgeous round window in the living area which complements the original waterwheel.
The house is light and airy in the summer and cosy in the winter with underfloor heating throughout.
In terms of outside space we have a cobbled patio area with seating and bbq, and a large decking area. Beyond the garden is open fields and the kilpatrick hills!
Our home is an ideal base to visit Scotland – Loch Lomond is about 30 minutes by car, Edinburgh and Stirling are about 50 minutes.
