“An absolutely fabulous stay. A stunning barn conversion in a quiet setting within easy reach of Inverness or Dingwall. Louise is an incredibly accommodating hostess who couldn't have done more to welcome us and make us feel at home. Thanks, guys, would love to come back. We had a fab time. Nigel & India”

“the most beautifully appointed and up to date b and b I have stayed in. Everything a delight. The Black Isle is a great location to start looking at east coast - distilleries, Pictish and other history, along with beautiful walks and interesting villages and towns”
“What fun we had at Louise's house! Lambs! Fresh eggs! The tractor shed was darling, extremely comfortable and we loved the fireplace. The countryside is awesome but you will need a rental car. Highly recommended!”
“LOVED IT! It was so cute, and such a relief as we had been camping and it started to rain. Her place was available on short notice, and had a fire place, and we were just thrilled. It was cosy and comfortably fit us (2 parents and 3 kids). She was an excellent hostess and communicator. Thank you, Louise!”
Where is it?
The Black Isle is a small farming peninsula just about 10 miles north of Inverness. We are a short drive away from the famed Loch Ness and also close to the Cairngorm Mountain, We are not too distant from the West Coast and the Isle of Skye. There are an abundance of distilleries surrounding the area and many beautiful beaches with many chances to indulge in quiet nature and unspoilt spaces. We are situated on a West facing hillside in the midst of a small farming community, about 7 miles from the nearest town. Our area is peaceful, the busiest sounds are the cockerel in the morning and the hum of a tractor somewhere in the distance in the afternoon. In winter, we have clear skies and are occasionally lucky to see the Northern lights. The house is situated on a working farm so there is some activity in the yard on most days but guests are welcome to explore and interact.
