About our home

Newly refurbished cottage which is situated in beautiful rural Somerset, only ten minutes' walk from the local village pub which serves great food and beer. The property is adjacent to our main home and we are on hand to answer questions and always happy to suggest our favourite days out or some good places to eat.

We are on the edge of the Mendip Hills overlooking Glastonbury Tor and are only a short drive from Wells (Cathedral and Bishop's Palace), Glastonbury (Tor and Abbey) and Cheddar (Caves and Gorge). The Somerset coast, Bristol and the Roman city of Bath are no more than an hour's drive away. There are plenty of other attractions nearby including Wookey Hole caves, Lyme Regis and Longleat Safari Park as well as various farm parks and the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton. For those interested in outdoor activities, there is walking, caving and climbing in the Mendips as well as bird-watching on the Somerset Levels.

Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen/living room (new kitchen in 2018) with an open fire. The kitchen has hob/oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs there is a large king-size bedroom with ensuite shower room, small twin room (can also be set up as a single) and family bathroom with shower over bath. There is also a third room in the loft space with a double bed for alternative sleeping or occasional guests.

Baby/child facilities available include travel cot, bed guard, stair gate and toys.

Outside is a shared garden (separate seating area for the cottage) including trampoline and play house and there is a field next door with plenty of space for playing. Barbeque available to use.

Small pets acceptable by prior arrangement.

We are rural and so is our wifi…. it is fine for websites/emails but please don't expect to be able to stream video content! Also, being on a farm, there are occasional smells and tractors/lorries driving past - but hopefully not enough to affect your enjoyment of the cottage.
