Our pretty little Victorian country cottage was built in 1875 and we live in the small historic medieval town of Cranbrook in Kent (the so-called 'garden of England'). The town is also famous for its windmill and church. It has a high street with tea rooms, fantastic coffee shops, boutiques, a toy shop, jewellery shops, food shops, great pubs and a michelin-starred restaurant. There are plenty of footpaths right outside to enjoy walks in the country, and the area has plenty of forests and woods to explore too. Nearby are also many places of historic interest such as Sissinghurst Castle (2 minutes drive) and Bodiam Castle (15 minutes). The train station is approximately 10 minutes drive away with direct links to London (50 minutes-1 hour) and Ashford where the Eurostar goes to Paris & Brussels. To come here you would have all the benefits of exploring the countryside as well as the exciting things to do and see in the city of London and the coast can be reached in 40 minutes.
We have a 2 year old so our cottage would suit a couple and a baby/toddler/child (x2) or just a couple. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, office, nursery, double bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, single bedroom (currently a spare room), bathroom (with bath and shower), smaller bathroom with toilet, garden office and garden.
The garden is very pretty with a terrace, barbecue, pond, vegetable patch and play area with swing. The cottage itself is semi-detached in a row of 6 (lovely neighbours!), 5 minutes walk across a field to the heart of the town.
