About our home

Not wishing to cause disappointment please note that this is our holiday home and we live in Buckinghamshire. As such we would only wish to swap if you live beyond London/Home Counties etc. This is a cosy Victorian period home which is superbly set to explore Dartmouth, Devon and Dartmoor. The house is literally a stones throw from the shops, river front, bars, restaurants, buses and little ferries. Once parked up you have no need to get in the car again if you don't want to. You can eat, walk, shop and sail to your hearts content in this amazing historic South Devon town. Or get boats and buses to quaint riverside villages or blue flag beaches. You can also walk to part of the South West Coastal path for however long you like. We love the walk from Dartmouth Castle to Stoke Fleming. Then have lunch in The Greene Dragon Inn and catch the bus back to town. Furnished with style, this is a warm and welcoming house with great river and town views. The spacious, bright lounge at the top of the house makes you feel as if you are on top of the town with stunning town and river views from the balcony through French doors. You can watch all of the town lights come on as night falls, quite magical. The well equipped and cosy kitchen/breakfast room leads onto a compact cottage garden which also has great town views and is a great sun trap. There are 3 double bedrooms over two floors, one of which has a single bunk above it. All have plenty of hanging and drawer storage. The two doubles have lovely town views and you can hear St. Saviours bells chiming on a Sunday morning as well as the whistle from the steam trains across the river at Kingswear. There is a spacious shower room with lovely large shower and then a second bathroom. There is also a single garage available, 5 minutes walk from the house. Once you stay you will certainly get the Dartmouth bug! Please note but the house isn't suitable for small children as there are quite a few sets of stairs, some of which are open plan. Same for pets as it is not possible for them to be contained in the kitchen. Sorry!
