About our home

The cottage is attached to our main house, and is used for holiday lets. It has its own small pretty garden and secluded carport parking. Inside, there is downstairs a dining room, sitting room with sofabed and well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom.
For some exchanges we can offer in addition to the cottage another (self-contained) adjoining annexe which would provide useful extra accommodation for the larger family or for receiving guests.

More about us

  1. We (Nick and Lauran) live in the adjacent large house, from which we offer bed and breakfast. You can get the idea from our website. We consider ourselves semi-retired (having previously been language school teachers and owners), enjoying a quiet life in one of the most attractive parts of England. For certain fairly extended periods of time during the year we love to travel and absorb new cultures and environments. We'd consider any destination. Exchange dates need not be simultaneous. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Where is it?

Situated on the edge of an attractive and active old village 5-10 minutes' drive from the pretty County Town of Dorchester, the cottage is secluded but not at all isolated. There are many lovely walks nearby and a great variety of interesting places to visit. Access to all of beautiful Dorset is easy. Weymouth/Portland (sailing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games), Poole/Bournemouth, Lyme Regis, Bridport, Sherborne are all about half an hour away by car. It is about eight miles from the wonderful Jurassic Coast, Dorset's World Heritage Coastline Site.
