About our home

Home in East Sheen near Richmond Park and not far from Henry VIII's Hampton Court and the royal home of Windsor Castle. River Thames a stone's throw away, and a 20 minute journey to central London from Mortlake stations which is 5 minutes walk away. We have a comfortable 1930s semi-detached end of terrace house in South West London within easy reach of Central London. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 reasonably sized with double beds and 1 small room with a single bed. There is a further upstairs room which we use as a counselling room but could be used as a further bedroom. The house is in reasonable order though we have busy lives with teenagers and busy jobs so at the moment it is not perfect. We have off-road parking, and a garage, which is great for London, though the garage is filled by a We Na Noh open canoe that is one of my hobbies. Anyone with knowledge of canoeing would be welcome to borrow it, as well as paddles, buoyancy aids, car etc., and we are happy to consider providing access to cars. Ours is a VW Touran that can carry 7 people, plus canoe on top. We have a pretty front garden and a reasonably sized back garden with barbecue, though the lawn needs attention, one of the things on my list of things to do! The location is within easy reach of London with all its attractions, Kew Gardens and Richmond Park are on the doorstep and other attractions are nearby, e.g. the Thorpe Park amusement park. I can provide you circular walking routes in the vicinity, from 3-10 miles, canoe trip ideas, even weekend walks that will take you through some of ancient England and find you lodging in a 16 century farm, if that is in your list of interests. We have a trained and well behaved German Wirehaired Pointer dog, called Hazel, and a young tom cat called Alfie. Depending on swap arrangement, Hazel could come with us or go to my sister's, but Alfie the very small but loud voiced and loving cat might have to be accommodated. We have broadband TV and an open fire in the front room, and a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, toaster, bread making machine, sandwich maker, mixer etc. Also PC and wireless access. We have a beehive at the end of the garden, which may be a worry to some but this is an education point, we use our garden freely with rare interference from the bees and they are truly a pleasure to watch. Local attractions:
- Kew Gardens
- Richmond Park

- Hampton Court
- Syon Park
