The accommodation offered is within our non smoking family home . The traditional Victorian tenement flat in Marchmont is south facing, well appointed, light and airy and is part of a block of 8 flats.
The kitchen is large and comfortable with table and chairs for dining for 6 people, along with an alcove with a couch and easy chair for relaxation.
Clean towels and bedding are provided, along with complimentary tea and coffee and full use of cooking basics - cooking oils, herbs and spices. Our kitchen is well equipped. There is also free Wi Fi, electric heaters, a hair dryer, TV and radios in both the kitchen and living room.
We are 20 minutes walk to Edinburgh's historical Royal Mile / Old Town and Edinburgh Castle through the Meadows Park. 10 minutes on the regular bus services. (41, 24 and number 5) The number 41 bus stop is directly outside the main exit of Waverly Train Station. Ask the bus driver to let you off at the top of Marchmont Road. We are 2 mins walk from Marchmont Road.
We are very close to the Edinburgh University campus's: George Square and The Kings Buildings are all within easy walking distance and also on the bus 41 route. We regularly host university lecturers and speakers.
We are well travelled within Scotland and are happy to advice on the best tourist sites and routes. We also have accommodation contacts on the West Coast and are happy to aid with accommodation bookings around the picturesque seaside village of Glenuig and the Island of Eigg.
One of us is a keen golfer and can assist with local knowledge re golf courses and there is two sets of golf clubs in the house for your use.
There are convenience stores 2 minutes from the flat, several good cafes and take-aways, a wonderful fish shop and a large amenities park close by. Warrender Park Swimming Pool (renovated Victorian swimming baths) is also located on our street.
