About our home

The Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh is a vibrant community with boutique shops, excellent eating places and food stores. Bruntsfield Links (one of the first golf courses in Scotland and still available for public use) and the adjoining Meadows give the area an open, rural feel at the same time as providing easy, pleasant footpaths directly into the Old City itself.

Our flat was created from an original 1810 period building and retains many of its original features. A fascinating history of the building includes having been home to Sophia Jex Blake (1840 – 1912), English physician, teacher and feminist who established Bruntsfield Hospital for Women on the site. It was converted into flats in 1990

We have three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two reception rooms, one of which is used as a study and has a sofa bed which can sleep two. There is a large dining kitchen and a huge drawing room. The building is served by a lift, but it is on the other side of the hall and so there are 10 steps minimum up or down to the flat. The single platform bedroom is not suitable for very young children or people with mobility issues.
