About our home

Completed in 2007, the house was featured in Architecture Scotland as one of the year's best new projects. Featuring simple, clean, minimalistic lines and large glass areas, the house provides a lovely contemporary space for family living. The house is furnished with carefully chosen contemporary pieces.

The downstairs area is largely open plan with a feature glass wall that opens fully to the garden. There is also a separate sitting room and office. Upstairs, there are two children's bedrooms, a family bathroom and two bedroom suites.

A full media system is wired throughout providing access to movies, multi-room music and internet services in all the living rooms and bedroom suites.

The gardens have been professionally landscaped and provide an attractive backdrop to the house as well as areas for outdoor seating and relaxing.

The house is in the Spylaw area of Colinton, about 3 miles (5km) from Edinburgh City Centre. A mature area with many large victorian houses, this is one of very few contemporary houses within the area. Although very accessible to Edinburgh City Centre, the location is semi-rural with cycle tracks and walks in the Pentland Hills and along the Water of Leith Walkway within walking distance.

There is a pretty local village with a large park, shops, pubs and a great Italian restaurant. All of the attractions of Edinburgh City Centre are easily accessible by taxi, bus or car.
