About our home

Our home is a traditional Victorian house which has been recently renovated. There is a formal living room, a quiet place to relax, and an open plan dining room/kitchen/garden room which is south facing and opens into the garden. Downstairs there is also a shower room and utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there 3 big bedrooms (one double and two single & cot bed) and a family bathroom with bath and shower. There is also a master bedroom with a super king bed and ensure shower room.

The house has superfast wifi, cable tv and Sonos speakers to enjoy music. The garden room is a large family space with a sofa and a dining table together with a large tv and home cinema system.

The garden has a bbq and a table for eating outside.

We live in a quiet residential area in the north of the city, very close to the Royal Botanic Gardens. It is a 30 minutes walk into the centre or 10 mins on the bus.

There are two fantastic parks near by and easy access to the cycle path which you can use to reach many parts of the city.

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
There are lots of great places to eat nearby at Newhaven Harbour, Michelin star restaurants in Leith and of course lots to chose from in the city centre.
Cool bars
Edinburgh is a very fun city especially in August when it hosts an international arts, music, comedy festival. There are many great bars to enjoy the atmosphere in the city centre as well as in Stockbridge which lies between our house and the city centre.
Cozy cafés
Newhaven Harbour has a great cafe serving very good food.
Bit of culture
Edinburgh is full of art galleries, museums, theatres and cinemas. In August it host the Internal Festival and the Fringe Festival, bringing with it an amazing array of shows to see.
Walks in the park
The house is situated near Victoria park, accessed via the cycle path. There is also the Royal Botanic Gardens which is world famous and very beautiful for a walk. Nearby is also Inverleith Park which boasts amazing views of the city skyline.
Spot of exercise
There is the main cycle path in Edinburgh accessible 2 minutes from the house. This together with the parks and gardens leaves lots of opportunity for fresh air and exercise. We also live close the the sea and there are lovely walks along the promenade towards Crammond which are very popular and provide fantastic views of the surrounding areas.
Day tripping
There are many many places to visit for the day whether it be in the city centre, out to one the many beaches in East Lothian, a trip to Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond, St Andrews to name just a few.
