Gavin's reviewsAs a host (3)
“Lovely stay in a stunning location. Great communication from Gavin. Very spacious house with a nice big garden as well - great for when the sun was shining. We loved the feeling of being remote while still being only a 20 minute or so drive from the nearest town and all the amenities you could need. Would recommend the boat trip from Elgol harbour.”
“The location of Gavin's home is spectacular. Mountains and sea on the doorstep. We had red deer outside the front door, glorious walks all around, boat trips a 20 minute walk away and Spar cave was a natural wonder. Gavin's home itself was comfortable and spacious for 7 of us. Very well equipped. Gavin was easy to make arrangements with and provided information to help us make the most of our trip. We would love to come back and explore some more of this special place.”
Where is it?
Iconic location, ideal for one or two families. Among the best panoramas in Scotland. Warm and cosy house with open fire.
Nestling on a ridge above the sea the property has stunning panoramas of the Black Cuillin mountains, the small Isles of Soay and Canna and beyond to open Atlantic, and a broad horizon of over 40 miles of mainland mountains. From sunrise to sunset the views are quite outstanding. Sea and mountain, and steeped in history, the best of the Scottish Highlands.
Lovely Restaurant is only a short walk away. Cosy and informal restaurant serving the very best of local ingredients cooked and presented with elegance and simplicity. They stock a tempting array of single malt whiskies.
The property has up to 4 bedrooms and can provide very flexible accommodation, perfect for one or two families.
This is an ideal location for hill walkers, climbers, bird watchers, landscape photographers, and those wishing to get away from it all with one of the most spectacular backdrops in Britain.
Elgol is famous for its sunsets; photographers can often be seen waiting for the sunset with cameras on tripods on our near the jetty car park. The house is only a 10 minute walk, or 2 minute drive from the jetty, and the local beach is renowned for fossils and the incredible honeycombe rock formation.
Great boat trips from the village under the mountains and to the inner Hebrides.
