About our home

Our home is a classic red brick English Georgian country house with a beautiful York stone terrace overlooking an extensive British grass lawn and classic formal garden. Private parking, concealed with greenery and electric gates in a quiet village road. Near the village cricket green and delightful pub, 3 minute walk away. For those with a green thumb or culinary skill, our large and well cared for kitchen garden can offer fresh organic produce in the summer.

The house is large, with a spacious hall, drawing and dining room, all with fireplaces. The kitchen is large and well stocked for a professional chef, with a more relaxed kitchen island for eating breakfast. Full laundry room with 2 American style washers and 2 dryers. All bedrooms are recently renovated and in classic English style. All but 1 of the bedrooms have king or double beds. Bathrooms have power showers or tubs, or both. Master bedroom is pimped out with an amazing television system and automatic fireplace, the other Master shares its bathroom with the other. There is also a playroom for kids to run loose in, with its own television and cupboards of games and toys. The house is well heated for winter, and large, light drenched windows cool the house in winter. The breeze from the attached field flows nicely into the house to cool it down if we are lucky enough to have a hot summer! The terrace has a great BBQ for summer evenings over the tree-lit lawn.

The house is situated in a quaint village outside West London with nice shops and restaurants. The beautiful and vast Windsor Great Park is 3 minutes away by car. Windsor is 10 minutes away. London is a 45 minute drive or train ride away, making the house a perfect launchpad for city day trips. Heathrow airport is only 20 minutes away by car, making international access a breeze. The house is right on the edge of the London Green Belt, meaning that if you head West from the house you are in the countryside, if you head East you are in the city. A stunning 30 minute walk can be accessed from the house's private lawn and extended field, offering an immediate and easy escape to the English countryside.

Pets are welcome and encouraged, as long as they respect the house as our 3 dogs do. We have kennels at the back where the dogs stay, and a private carer for the animals, so you won't have to look after the animals.

Depending on the time of year and the requirements for your stay, a full time housekeeper can be available. The kitchen garden is cared for while your stay, you are not expected to do anything for them, unless you want to. We also have a car that can be used, however, we will ask to discuss this further in later communications. A few dusty bikes in the back shed are also available for a nice Windsor Great Park Sunday ride!

Basically this is a stunning family home in a rural, yet urban accessible location, fully operational and used for a wonderful family life. We are a family of 6. Jonathan, the eldest son manages the house on this house swap website, so you will be talking with him. We are so excited to share this home with others through a mutually beneficial house swap. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you in!
