About our home

Our home is a 4 bedroom historic country house on two floors. It can sleep up to 7 comfortably and is suitable for families with children, groups or couples. There is a master double bedroom with modern ensuite shower-room, two other double rooms, one large single room and a double sofa bed in the games room. There is a large family bathroom upstairs and a toilet on the ground floor. Wooden floors throughout the ground floor, with a large sitting room with a smart TV, dvd, stereo and an open fireplace. The kitchen/dinning room is open plan and well equipped. Both of these rooms look out onto the south-facing lawned garden with small terraced area. There is also a games room with TV, X-box, PS4 and a table football game. (The snooker/pool table in the photo is no longer there)

The house is in a small village (Failand) only 15 minutes taxi drive from Bristol Airport. The house is overlooking woods, near to two golf courses. 10 minutes drive from the city of Bristol, with easy access to Clifton Suspension Bridge, historic Clifton and the Harbourside. There are museums, galleries, Cathedrals, cinemas and an aquarium & science centre in the lively harbourside area. Here there are also many restaurants, cafes, bars and English pubs to enjoy.

The Roman town of Bath is 30 minute drive/train away. Wales and Devon are only 1.5 hour away and it is 3 hours to the south coast beaches or Cornwall. The city of London is 2 hours drive or a direct train/bus journey.

Bristol is also the hometown of the famed street artist Banksy with many of his originals still to see about the city street, as well as other urban street art.

We are happy to swap cars if needed.

More about us

  1. Rod and Ann-Marie are Media Professionals and University Lecturers with two boys Sam (18) and Max (15).

  2. Our interests include cinema, photography, music and outdoor activities such as cycling, swimming, sailing, surfing, skiing, and travelling. Sam and Max both love to play tennis.

  3. We have two adorable cats called Scampi and Tiger-Lily with freedom to roam outdoors through a cat-flap. They would need feeding once a day but other than that they are very easy to care for. The cats can be fed by our friendly neighbour if need be.
