About our home

Poppy Cottage at Hemscott Hill Farm offers it all for a beach holiday whilst staying on a working farm. It is a beautiful cottage that sleeps 4 in a double and twin room and has enclosed gardens so is suitable for families and dog owners.

It is ideal for a winter break too when you can walk in the crisp air to the local pub, or stargaze our dark skies and come back for a cosy night in front of the wood burning stove (with underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty).

The Cottage is a short stroll (5 minutes max) across the dunes to a fabulous stretch of sandy beach and there are nature reserves to the north and south within easy walking distance.

Neighbourhood

We are located on a rural farm on the coast at beautiful Druridge Bay, Northumberland. Druridge Bay is a 7 mile stretch of often secluded sandy beach right next to the farm. There is a small village with a cafe and ice cream shop just 1 mile walk along the beach (Cresswell) and another 2 villages with good local pubs 2 miles away (Widdrington Village and Ellington). A large fishing village with good restaurants (fantastic seafood) is just 5 miles away (Amble).

We're ideally located for exploring the Northumberland Heritage Coast with lots of castles, stately homes etc within easy reach. Holy Island is an easy drive too.
