About our home

A beautiful, spacious London house in trendy North London, with excellent connections to central London and the West End. This stylish, light-filled Edwardian terrace is home to Annick & Ian, two self employed professionals, and their rescue greyhound Dora. We hope you'll enjoy our lovely comfortable home, and we can provide you with lots of recommendations and tips for getting around and places to see, depending on what you like doing.

Ground Floor:
Spacious, light filled kitchen with wrap-around glass bi-fold doors opening onto the garden, a breakfast bar and cooking island, a large American style fridge, fan oven, and microwave. The kitchen also includes a separate laundry cupboard with double doors housing a washing machine and tumble dryer; and a downstairs toilet.
Large living room with two sofas, large coffee table, floor to ceiling fitted cupboards and bookcases, and a fireplace with a cosy woodburning stove.
Interconnected dining room with French windows onto the garden, a large mid century dining table with 6 chairs, a 'cosy corner' with a standing lamp, armchair + footstool (perfect for reading in with a glass of something nice!) and a piano for the musically minded.

First Floor:
Large Master bedroom with superking bed, floor to ceiling fitted wardrobes and fireplace.
Large second bedroom with a kingsize bed, chest of drawers, full length mirror and fitted wardrobe.
Study / home office (you're welcome to use this too)

Second Floor:
Large bedroom with kingsize bed and chest of drawers; plus en suite large bathroom with a rainshower.
A relaxing 'yoga room' (we use this for massages - as one of us is a deep tissue massage therapist - and practicing yoga in). If needed, you could also use this room to sleep a couple of extra people – we have a very comfortable luxury blow up double mattress and bedding if required.

We have super comfy matresses in all the rooms, and all our bedding is organic cotton or linen. We use natural, ecofriendly cleaning products.

For 2022 we are looking at holidays in the UK only, so we can take our dog with us, ideally by the sea, a river or somewhere lovely in the countryside. We're open to points swaps too.

More about us

  1. We're a professional couple in our forties and fifties who love travelling, with a rescue greyhound. We are both treble COVID vaccinated. Both of us are non smokers, thoughtful and respectful of other people's property.

  2. We are both self employed. Annick (female) runs a vegan fashion retail platform (www.immaculatevegan.com) and Ian (male) is a yoga teacher and deep tissue massage therapist.

  3. We love being out in nature – we both love walking, Annick is into wild swimming and Ian loves bikes and cycling.

Where is it?

The house is 5 minutes' walk from the large open space of Finsbury Park (perfect for walks, with a wildlife lake, two cafes, tennis courts and many other sports facilities); and in the other direction it’s 5 minutes' walk to the vibrant Green Lanes, with a huge array of restaurants, cafes and food shops. However the street the house is on is residential and quiet.

In terms of transport, the property is extremely well connected to central London. It’s only 3 mins walk to nearby Harringay Station (with trains direct to Finsbury Park station in 2 minutes, and then onwards to the City).

At Finsbury Park (zone 2) you can also change onto the Victoria and Piccadilly lines, which go directly to areas such as Oxford Street, Covent Garden and PIcadilly Circus (for shopping and theatres), Kings Cross, Green Park for Buckingham Palace, Knightsbridge and Hyde Park. If you prefer to walk a little first, you can also walk to Finsbury Park or Manor House tube stations in 20 minutes. Plus there are buses from Green Lanes into other areas of central London.

Closer by, you can walk (20 mins) or get a bus to the lovely London village of Crouch End, and there are buses to nearby Highgate and Stoke Newington. All are full of lovely cafes, cosy pubs and independent shops. Crouch End boasts two arthouse cinemas; and in Highgate there is a wonderful independent theatre and the famous Highgate Cemetery. You can also get a train to the stunning broad expanses of Hampstead Heath, with wonderful outdoor swimming lakes, an art deco lido, cafes and a farmer’s market, as well as miles of walks and panoramic views over London.

Buzzy restaurants
This area is famous for its fabulous Turkish restaurants (great for both meat lovers and veggies), but there are plenty of other options available close by too. Whilst the best Turkish restaurants in the UK are to be found in Green Lanes, there is also great Japanese food at Brouhaha, and burgers & cocktails at Bun & Bar (also live music). Take a short walk or bus journey into Crouch End or Stoke Newington for everything from great bistros and fine dining, to authentic Italian pizzerias, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese & Korean food, brilliant burgers, and several good vegan/veggie restaurants too.
Cool bars
5 mins walk away on Green Lanes are Brouhaha (bar with great Japanese food), The Salisbury pub (large Edwardian pub with original wooden fittings), and The Old Ale Emporium (a traditional and very inexpensive proper London boozer, with probably the best Guinness in North London); 10 minutes walk away are Bun & Bar (burgers, cocktails & live music) and The Finsbury, which has a lovely beer garden and is a busy live music venue.
Cozy cafés
5 mins walk away on Green Lanes are Music & Beans (for the best coffee in North London – they do yummy cakes too), and artisan bakery The Dusty Knuckle (the most delicious sourdough, baguettes and cinnamon buns, plus an eat in cafe. They also do pizza nights Thu-Sat). Crouch End (20 mins walk) is literally oozing cosy cafes!
Retail therapy
You can get all the provisions you need from Green Lanes, which has lots of fresh food shops; and nearby Crouch End and Stoke Newington are full of lovely independent shops; you're also just 30 minutes way on the train from the central London shopping meccas of Oxford Street and Covent Garden.
Bit of culture
2 cinemas in Crouch End, plus a cinema and theatre in Finsbury Park, and 30 minutes by train from your door is London's West End, one of the world's best locations for theatre.
Walks in the park
5 minutes from the broad expanse of Finsbury Park with boating lake, two cafes and multiple sports facilities; Finsbury Park is also the entrance to the Parkland Walk, a beautiful nature reserve walk along an old disused railway line that will take you all the way to Highgate.
Spot of exercise
Park Run every Saturday morning in Finsbury Park; 5 minutes from Fitness First; a short walk or bus ride to the Castle Climbing Centre and boating & swimming lake; 10 mins by train to Alexandra Palace Ice Rink; plenty of yoga classes nearby too.
Day tripping
Accessible to all that London has to offer. or take a day trip to Cambridge (direct train from Finsbury Park).
