About our home

We offer a large and beautiful Victorian tenement flat in the South Side of Glasgow. We have 3 bedrooms: master-bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower-room, guest room with a double bed, our daughter's bedroom with a single bed. There is one living room with a view to the Queen's Park plus a very spacious study room with broadband access to the Internet and a bathroom with a corner bath, electric shower and mosaic floor. We love cooking therefore our kitchen is very large and comfortable with all modern appliances and a dining area. It's a typical tenement flat with wooden floors, period cornicing and a fireplace in the sitting room. The large common backgarden is well kept.

More about us

  1. We are John and Sonia, a married couple with one 16 year old daughter. We both work at the University of Glasgow and enjoy travelling when able to get away. Our daughter attends Music School, she plays the violin and piano.
We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see ours. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in the Scotland.

Where is it?

Glasgow is the biggest city in Scotland, and was the capital of Architecture in 2002 and of Culture in 1990. The renowned architects “Greek” Thompson and Mackintosh designed and built many beautiful buildings in the vicinity. Our tenement is situated in a quiet street next to Queen’s Park. There are several churches, a synagogue, shops and nice restaurants with Indian, Chinese, Kurdish and Italian cuisine in adjoining streets. A fitness centre and a swimming pool are a 10 minute ride by bus. The well known Burrell Collection and Pollok Park are within reasonable walking distance.
Glasgow is ideally located as a touring base for travelling around Scotland. It has easy access to Oban, Fort Willian, Aviemore, and the Fife Coast.
