Lavender Cottage is a cute and cosy little home. Not architecturally groundbreaking, not full of mod cons, but with everything you could need (all be it a bit quirky!). We do squishy sofas and shabby chic rugs, not cubist design and polished concrete floors! The layout of our house is quite unusual though - just the three bedroooms upstairs (two of which interconnect) and only one bathroom and loo (downstairs). If you want the lap of luxury then Lavender Cottage is definately not for you. But if you want a very much loved and lived in family home to lay down roots for a little while, then we think she's perfect!
Pirbright is very much a typical English village - with a duck pond, a cricket club, an annual scarecrow festival, a prize-winning butchers, and two pubs - but all within a 30 minute train journey to Central London. The nearest station is a 15 minute walk, or a two minute drive. And from there you are direct to Waterloo, and all the lights and glamour beyond!
And once you have done village life and London's style, then you can also find local urbanites in the gorgeous town of Guildford, just ten minutes from the cottage. Great shops, restaurants, cafes, and all incredibly family friendly.
In short, our house is a real family home - perhaps a little shabby, but definately chic too. You will find boxes of toys in every room, bunk beds for the kids, well loved armchairs, and a dog bed (if we haven't taken it with us!).
As well as views of the village green and duck pond, we have a big garden backing on to a field full of miniature ponies (yes - really!) and a village full of lots of smiling faces.
Countryside, London within spitting distance, and English cottage shabby chic too - what's not to like?!
