About our home
(NOT INTERESTED IN LONDON THANKS. We normally live there most of the time. Also we do not want to do points swaps, thank you.)
Ours is a 200 year old stone cottage, fully modernised and situated in a peaceful hamlet overlooking fields, yet only 1.5km to the lovely Cotswold town of Northleach. It is easy to use the public footpath and walk across the fields to town where there are all amenities- pubs, cafes and wine bar, renowned butcher, general store, pharmacy, and a glorious 15th century church.
Our small hamlet is a collection of large and smaller stone houses scattered over farm land, with an 11th century church at its heart. It is peaceful and utterly charming, yet has easy access to Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Cirencester, Cheltenham (all within 10-20 minutes) and Oxford (30 minutes), Chipping Camden and Broadway. You will need a car to see all the historic homes, gardens, towns and interesting sights of this beautiful area but there are some buses running to and from Northleach on an irregular basis.
For reviews written about our cottage, please see our other property “Riverside apartment near Central London” in Barnes, London and you will find reviews of people who have exchanged with our cottage - see Monique’s, Danny’s and Pierre’s reviews. (For some reason this home exchange company cannot disentangle the reviews! )

As a host (1)More about us
-
We're a retired professional couple who have been able to enjoy the stimulation and adventure of discovering new places via home exchanges. We have done over 50 now and every one has been interesting and enjoyable, some have been truly wonderful. We have never had anything but positive experiences. .
-
We enjoy walking, cycling, tennis, music, history and art and architecture. We love remote countryside and also visiting cities of historic or architectural interest.
-
We love long weekend exchanges to British and European cities easily reached from London. We love country houses in the UK, France and Italy, particularly those that are within easy reach of a village or town. We sometimes travel with friends, or family members

Neighbourhood
Hampnett is a small, peaceful and very picturesque Cotswold limestone village, set in gentle farmland, with a pretty Norman church and a public footpath leading to the lovely town of Northleach, with its pubs, wine bar, cafes, post office, general store, pharmacy and renowned butcher. It is 30 minute' drive from Oxford, 8 minutes from Bourton on the Water, and 12 from Stow on the Wold, 15 minutes from Cirencester and Cheltenham, so the perfect centre for exploring the Cotswolds .
Our cottage overlooks a small village green with an ancient water trough.
