This a genuine family house. It is comfortably decorated and furnished, but no mimimalist "show" home. It is a relatively modern (1960s), secure 4 bedroomed, detached house with all modern conveniences . There are 3 double-bedrooms with 3 double bedrooms. Bedrooms look onto green fields and Town Park Facilities include upstairs bathroom, toilet, electric shower and basin; downstairs cloakroom. Large lounge opens onto garden through French doors onto a large slate patio. Dining room is separate and could be used as an additional bedroom if you were travelling with children who all needed a saparate bedroom; the kitchen is at present a little tired, but adequate-it may well be replaced by the Summer, finances permitting! There are tables in both kitchen and the dining room.
House has usual electronic/electrical devices-TV, hi-fi, wireless internet etc.
House is set 50m.from nearest road, behind its own lockable gate. Covered on 2 sides by mature Wisteria & on third by a Russian vine. (No traffic noise!)
Large, very private, peaceful garden, complete with mature trees, small well-established pond, barbecue and comfortable furniture. It is set in the corner of a housing estate. Garden is bordered by Town Park (excellent for children) on one side and a school sports field on the other. Rich variety of garden & woodland birds visit the garden. Garden is fenced on all sides and is both secure and private; always shade, always sunny spots somewhere in garden. It is a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of sight seeing.

There are plenty of walks that you can take without ever getting into a car
We are a family of 3: Laura & I are 50-something school teachers and our son Seth is coming up 19. We enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and sports; enjoy walking and camping. We go to the theatre, attend concerts, visit museums & exhibitions regularly and eat out when we can. We would be happy to offer advice, provide help on possible activities etc.
We do have 2 dogs, which we would we would kennel. However, if you are hypo-allergic to animals our house would not be necessarily suitable for you.
In the garden is a chicken run, with 4 hens at present. Guests would have to care for them and eat the eggs[optional]- really not a big job-or be prepared for neighbours to have access twice a day to open up, feed and lock up.
We are very flexible in what we are looking for; primarily a different country, preferrably with sunshine, easily accessible by plane or car but are limited by the constraints of the UK school holiday system.
We would consider a car-exchange, providing insurance can be arranged.
