“We really enjoyed our short stay in this charming house! We were so comfortable during our stay and relished the character of the property and the beautiful garden. It is in an idyllic setting and we fell in love with the pretty village of Heighington. Thank Bridget and Adrian for a lovely stay!”

About our home
Our lovely terraced farmhouse home was built in 1850. Downstairs: 2 living rooms, a farmhouse kitchen with range cooker, dining conservatory, study and downstairs toilet. Upstairs: 2 lovely double bedrooms (1 ensuite) and 1 twin. The 4th bedroom is in the converted barn in the garden. It is huge with a sitting area + TV/DVD, a kitchenette and its own bathroom. The pretty walled garden is very private with table, chairs and chimenea for outdoor eating. The village is traditional , built around the green with an old church, a shop and two great pubs. There are buses from the village to Darlington where there is a railway station with regular services to London, York , Durham, Newcastle and Edinburgh, all also easily accessible by car as we are only ten minutes from the A1. So you can visit the incredible Durham Cathedral (20 minutes away by car) discover the Viking history and explore York, one of the prettiest cities in England , enjoy a classical concert at the Sage in Gateshead or shop in Newcastle it's all yours! The immediate countryside is pretty and within 20 minutes you are in the fantastic Yorkshire Dales , North Yorkshire Moors.or wild County Durham . So great walking. We love living here!
