About our home

ALSO AVAILABLE FOR LONG WEEKENDS

We live in a large, comfortable stylish home 10 minutes walk from the centre of Henley-On-Thames. On the ground floor there is a spacious modern kitchen/dining area with two ovens, large fridge/freezer complex, dishwasher and large flat screen TV. Leading off kitchen there is a utilitary room with washing machine and dryer, and also a TV room with large flatscreen TV, playstation, Wii plus and many DVDs and games - great for kids! There is also a study with hundreds of books, a sitting room and a downstairs loo. On the first floor we have the large master bedroom with a super-king sized bed and en-suite bathroom, three childrens' bedrooms, one with plenty of toys and a large family bathroom with bath and shower. On the second floor there is a bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower. Outside there is a pretty garden with a BBQ, eating area, table tennis, trampoline and chickens. WiFi. Car exchange available.
We love Henley because it is beautiful, safe, upmarket, typically English and has a relaxing feel to it. It has many old and beautiful buildings, a historic church, quaint old pubs, award-winning restaurants, a theatre, a cinema, cafe's and a central market square filled with interesting stalls on market days. There are wonderful walks and bicycle rides along the river Thames and into the Chiltern hills, and boat hire is available. Easy access by car to all parts of England - London (under an hour) Oxford (45 minutes), Bath (1 hour 50 mins), Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare) (1 hour 20 mins), Reading (20 mins), Legoland (30 mins), Thorpe Park (45 mins), Windsor and Eton (25 minutes), the south coast beaches and the beautiful New Forest (1 hour 40 mins), Heathrow airport (30 mins).
There are five of us, I am a tutor and my husband is a lawyer. We have three children aged 20, 18 and 12. We have a cat and 4 chickens, but if you prefer we can make arrangement for these to be looked after. We love travelling to new places, this is our second house swap, the first, to the USA worked wonderfully.
