About our home

Our beautiful home can offer you the perfect base to explore London and further afield. We are only 10 minutes to central London, or 30 minutes to the Kent Countryside providing you with a great balance for sightseeing and relaxing when the chaos of the city overwhelms! With space to breath whilst enjoying London life, the delights of the Herne Hill Farmers' Market, Brockwell Park, Dulwich Village and East Dulwich will enchant you as much as exploring the 'traditional' London sights.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in leafy Herne Hill. 10 - 15 mins by train to London Victoria or Blackfriars for St Paul’s and the Southbank. The tourist attractions of London really are on your doorstep and very easy to access but we are sure you will find as many delights in our local neighbourhood to explore as well. We are sandwiched between Three great parks Brockwell with views over London, the famous Lido and mini railway, Dulwich with a boating lake, bikes and trikes to hire and a great adventure play park and Ruskin, more beautiful views and a fantastic paddling pool in the summer. There is a weekly Farmers and Craft Market in Herne Hill and shops and restaurants nearby to keep all tastebuds happy.

Buzzy restaurants
We love sampling the delights of stone baked pizza, homemade salted caramel ice cream and fresh dim sum at Brixton Village. For the more discerning pallet, or a special occasion, Rocca Di Papa is a fabulous Italian in Dulwich Village and The Palmerston in East Dullwich is equally good. The nearby pubs and cafes do great food or for some standard chains Pizza Express and Cafe Rouge are a few minutes walk away.
Cool bars
The Half Moon, The Commercial has cosy fires, board games and a fine choice of English Ales (and Sunday Roasts). The Crown and The Greyhound is a local institution and a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a Sunday.
Cozy cafés
Llewelyn’s, Blackbird Bakery, The Lido Cafe are all within a 5 min stroll. 10 minutes meander will take you to Gail's Bakery or Cafe Rouge or 15 mins walk away are all the delights of East Dulwich.
Retail therapy
East Dulwich and Brixton Village have everything a shopper looking for some individual style could want. For the more mainstream, pop onto the Victoria Line to Oxford Street. Door to door in 30 mins!
Bit of culture
10 minutes by train to London Victoria or London Blackfriars for the Tate Modern, Britain and all that central London has to offer. Closer to home is the Dulwich Picture Gallery and
Walks in the park
Brockwell Park (5 mins), Ruskin Park (10 mins), Dulwich Common (10 mins) ... take your pick!
Spot of exercise
Go for a run in Brockwell Park, or if you're feeling brave a dip in Brockwell lido!
Day tripping
If you want to explore the English countryside, trains from Herne Hill also go to Kent (the 'garden' of England). Perfect for long country walks, pub lunches, exploring castles or trips to the sea side.
